The Ventura Festival Over Two Decades of Film Success

The Ventura Film Festival operates as an unrestricted genre international film festival that raises awareness for environmental issues such as forest and oceanic conservation and restoration, via a yearly film showcase and corresponding activities. The Ventura Film Festival began in 2004 and has displayed hundreds of movies, typically more than 200 films every summer, and has attracted attention from the global cinema community. The founding executive director of the Ventura Film Festival was selected to take part, alongside numerous Hollywood elite, in the half-century commemoration of West Side Story and Hollywood's prestigious footprint/handprint ceremony honoring Academy Award recipients Rita Moreno, George Chakiris, together with Golden Globe honoree Russ Tamblyn at the iconic Chinese Theater in Hollywood. This celebration also functioned as the official BluRay release by Fox and MGM of West Side Story, which is universally acknowledged by critics and fans as the greatest musical of all time. This prestigious recognition and participation highlights the festival's meaningful presence and distinguished reputation within the entertainment community.
